Start with a list of the windows you want to replace. Photos and rough measurements help us prepare an initial estimate. A useful budget also includes the fitting work and any agreed repairs around the openings.
List the windows
Give each window a simple label, such as "kitchen" or "front bedroom". Take a photo showing the whole window and record its approximate size. Note changes you want in opening style, colour or the arrangement of glass. Include your postcode so we can consider the location of the work.
Compare the same choices
Ask for each option to identify the frame material and product, glass and opening arrangement. If you change one of these, request an updated estimate showing the difference. Comparing the same opening with similar glass and fitting work makes the price difference easier to understand.
Check the fitting work
Ask whether the price includes removing and disposing of old windows and fitting the replacements. Check who will repair surrounding plaster, render or other finishes. Tell us about difficult access before the estimate, such as a conservatory beneath an upstairs window.
Keep optional work separate
Ask for optional items to be shown separately so you can decide what belongs in your budget. If external roller shutters are part of your project, request a separate price for them. Their cost will then be clear alongside the window replacement.
Check the total and the next stage
Confirm whether VAT and fitting are included. Ask what could change after the final survey and when the final specification and price will be agreed. After you accept an initial estimate, our final survey checks the details needed before the order is confirmed.
Questions
Can I get an estimate before the final survey?
Yes. Send photos, rough measurements and your postcode. The final survey confirms the order details.
Can I use a starting price as my whole budget?
Check what that example includes. Its window size, glass, finish and fitting work may differ from your project.
Does every quote include fitting?
Check each quote. Supply and fitting, VAT and any excluded work should be identified clearly.
Send labelled photos, approximate measurements and your postcode.
