Solid roofs
Conservatory roof replacement - year-round living space
Fully glazed conservatory roofs can overheat in summer and leak heat in winter. A solid tiled replacement improves insulation, reduces glare and makes the room usable every month - at a fraction of a full extension build.

Solid roof conversion
Why replace a glazed conservatory roof?
Better thermal performance, less condensation and a finish that matches your house roof - not a bolt-on plastic look.
Windows4you use Equinox conservatory roof systems: composite tiles with a natural slate-like appearance, limestone and polypropylene blend, available in colours from ebony black to brick red. Tile product guarantees can run up to 50 years; our installation workmanship is guaranteed for 10 years.
Partial replacement and rooflight combinations are possible where you still want controlled daylight. We serve Staffordshire, Cheshire and surrounding counties; larger projects may travel further.

- Cooler and less glare in summer
- Improved sound insulation
- Tiled finish matched to existing roof
- Skylight and partial-glaze options
- Building-control route confirmed on survey

What the quote should cover
Conservatory roof structure, insulation and approvals
Conservatory roof replacement often touches building control - the written quote should say what is included.
Thermal upgrade
Insulated solid build-up replaces cold glazing - U-values and ventilation strategy confirmed on survey.
Structure and load
Existing frame and footings are checked for imposed loads before tile specification is fixed.
Interior finish
Plasterboard, lighting and trim are itemised - not assumed as a hidden extra.
Final specification is confirmed on survey and written on the itemised quote.
Conservatory roof FAQs
Questions
Roof glazing and replacement - surveyed before manufacture.
Roof FAQs.
01Does a solid conservatory roof need Building Regulations approval?
Most solid replacements change thermal performance and structure. Your project needs the correct building-control route before work starts - we flag this on survey rather than assuming approval from photos.
02Is a solid roof cheaper than an extension?
Usually yes for usable floor area, because the walls and base often already exist. Final cost depends on span, tile choice, internal finish and any structural upgrades.
03Can you quote without visiting?
Yes. Send outside photographs, rough sizes and the number of openings for a first written price. The survey then confirms manufacture sizes, access, thresholds and finishing details before anything is ordered.
