Steel and Crittall-style routes compared

Steel prices follow the system and use

No single per-square-metre headline covers welded steel, look-alike aluminium and heritage-bar uPVC.

External thermally broken steel, internal cold steel and steel-look aluminium are quoted on drawings, sizes and finish - not from a generic online calculator.

Steel glazing FAQs

Steel questions

Common steel and Crittall-style questions.

Steel FAQs.

01Do you supply Crittall?

We supply independent steel and alternative systems. We do not claim affiliation with Crittall Windows Ltd - the quote names the actual manufacturer and system.

02Can cold steel go on an external wall?

Only where the use and building physics allow. Heated external openings normally need a thermally broken route - survey and specification confirm.

03When is steel-look aluminium enough?

When maintenance, budget and sightline targets suit aluminium profiles. Compare joints and grid proportions on the written quote, not from marketing images alone.
