Outward opening
Standard casement windows - the practical outward-opening starting point
When you do not need a flush sash line, standard casement is often the best-value route. We survey each opening, name the profile on the quote and fit with our own team.

Where standard casement wins
What to spend on with standard casement windows
If the sash does not need to sit level with the outer frame, standard casement usually gives the most practical path through the specification.
It suits a single replacement, a full house or a bay. Opening pattern, colour, glass and hardware still change the price - the quote names each choice instead of hiding it behind a product tier.
- Side-hung, top-hung and fixed combinations
- Double or triple glazing where the system allows
- Dual-colour and woodgrain subject to availability
- Survey, fitting and making good shown in writing

One honest comparison
Standard casement or flush casement?
Both normally open outwards. Flush brings the sash level with the outer frame for a calmer, timber-style line; standard casement usually costs less and suits many rear elevations.

What the quote should cover
Casement operation, security and comfort
Performance depends on the chosen profile, glass, hardware and installation - not the word “casement” alone.
Security hardware
Multi-point locking and hinge choice are specified for each opening on the written quote.
Thermal performance
U-values depend on size, glass and vent details - we confirm them for your openings.
Day-to-day use
Opening direction, restrictors and trickle vents are agreed before manufacture.
Final specification is confirmed on survey and written on the itemised quote.

Standard casement FAQs
Questions
Common questions before you compare quotes.
Casement window FAQs.
01What is a standard casement window?
It is the familiar outward-opening window hinged at the side or top. “Casement” describes how it opens; the frame can be uPVC, timber, aluminium or another suitable material.
02Can you quote without visiting?
Yes. Send outside photographs, rough sizes and the number of openings for a first written price. The survey then confirms manufacture sizes, access, cills, glass and finishing details before anything is ordered.
03Should I upgrade to flush casement?
Choose flush when the external line matters more than the lowest starting price. We can price both routes on the same survey.
04How much do casement windows cost?
Common sizes on this page have a starting price. Glass, colour and fitting are confirmed in writing after survey.
05Are casement windows secure?
A side-hung casement can take multi-point locking. The lock and hinge specification is named on the quote, not assumed from the opening style.
