01What is a thermal break in steel?
A barrier in the frame that reduces heat loss through the metal. External heated openings need a broken route - internal screens do not.
02How much do external steel doors cost?
Thermally broken external sets cost more than internal cold steel on a similar grid. Glass, finish and the opening size are on the written quote.
03External steel or steel-look aluminium?
Real external steel is a welded metal frame with a thermal break. Steel-look aluminium copies the grid in a thermally broken aluminium system. Price both when the look is the brief.
04Where are external steel doors used?
On heated external openings - garden doors, glazed sets and entrances - where an internal cold screen would lose heat.
05Can you quote without visiting?
Yes. Send outside photographs, rough sizes and the number of openings for a first written price. The survey then confirms manufacture sizes, access, thresholds and finishing details before anything is ordered.
